As the government this week search for answers to Britains growing crimewave of law breaking activity Comrades stalwart Geordie 'GTB' Hewish threw open an invitation to Prime Minister David Cameron " Bring back the birch and horsewhip the scoundrels in the high street" He bellowed from the Comrades lounge. Indeed Hewish once famed for his hardline approach to Baggage handlers poured scorn on the 'softly softly' 2010 approach to layabouts and scroungers "Take then down Ladysmith & pelt them with Rotten Tomatoes" he cried "That will teach them some respect" He concluded.
